01 · USER SEATS
Environment & user stack
We build and run your Microsoft 365 environment from day one: domain, DNS, accounts, devices, security. Configured to your standards, supported without a clock running.
Stack software support is included for Full and Lite users. No hourly fees for supported software. When something needs attention, you reach out to us.
Two primary user types, plus additional seat types for specific situations.
Full Users
COMPANY LAPTOP
For FTEs and core consultants.
The full M365 E5 stack: SharePoint, Teams, Exchange, Defender, Intune, Egnyte, Zoom, cloud backup, and remote access.
Company-managed laptops.
Device security, updates, and support are included in the seat. Basis can handle procurement, provisioning, and deployment of those laptops when needed.
Lite Users
OWN DEVICE
For consultants and VC partners.
Consultants and VC partners are on their own devices.
Full company accounts with cloud-level security protecting company assets wherever they're accessed.
Device-level support isn't included, but company data stays protected. Regular access reports keep you in the loop.
Special seat types are available for efficiency in the lab and in shared finance services.

We offer two tiers of project time: IT leadership and solutions architecture, covering cybersecurity, cloud and on-prem infrastructure, and R&D application configuration.
Projects over 10 hours get scoped and agreed before we start.

Do you support macOS and Windows?
Yes. Both platforms, macOS and Windows, are fully supported under the Basis framework. Your team uses what works for them.

Do you send laptops to users' homes?
Yes. We provision and ship directly to wherever your people are. Whether remote employees, hybrid teams; it doesn't matter. The laptop arrives ready to use.

Do you charge hourly for user support?
No, we do not charge hourly for your user stack software. Support is included in the seat fee. No hourly charges, no surprise invoices. For third-party software outside the stack, additional support fees may apply.

Do you support third-party software for research and business use?
Yes. Supporting the tools your team depends on is a big part of what we do. For research applications like GraphPad Prism and ChemDraw, and business tools like Adobe and DocuSign, we handle procurement, licensing, and where applicable, configuration and support.

What does the transition to Basis look like over the first 30 to 60 days?
No matter where you are today, we have a clear, straightforward plan to get you to a good state and on your way. We've done this before, and we bring a customer service focus to every step to ensure that users are not distracted. By day 30, most clients are fully onboarded, operating on the majority of the Basis framework.

What's included in leadership time?
Leadership Package time is typically used in two ways. First, we set a regular cadence to understand your priorities, milestones, and discuss where IT can best support the business. Second, we work behind the scenes to keep your environment aligned with biotech IT best practices. Basis was built around continuous improvement across our clients, so we look for ways to bring meaningful advances into your environment without waiting for a request or billing hourly for each improvement. Basis leadership covers oversight, governance, IT updates, roadmap planning, policies, risk monitoring, process improvement, systems and data strategy, security, and compliance.
